Recently I shared two posts introducing Grounding (aka Earthing), Appreciating “Grounding”. Lesson #1 which can be found HERE and The Science Behind Grounding – An Introduction, HERE.

If you’ve not read those posts, I recommend them and their video links to understand this powerful discovery. In particular I recommend taking the time to watch the The Earthing Movie, the 2 minute trailer is HERE and the Entire Movie (1:15) is HERE.

My personal experience with Grounding has been nothing short of spectacular: greatly reduced pain – which for me has been a gigantically big deal for decades, much better and deeper sleep (with only waking up once per night for the bathroom), increasing calmness and greatly improved sustained energy and focus throughout the day.  My wife’s experiences are very similar to my own, plus she’s noticing that she’s losing weight without changing her diet.

Furthermore, we’re both very impressed that Grounding works regardless of whether you believe in it or not – and the results have been surprising in their scope.

However, there’s one thing that can – and does – trip up people about Grounding; they think that a 30 minute walk with bare feet on the ground is sufficient. Well, that’s not enough.

I’ve met quite a few folks who say, “Oh yeah, I do that all the time.” But then I dig in I find out they think that Grounding means to sit out on their lawn for a while in the evening with their feet in the grass.

Well…that IS a great thing to do…but it’s not enough to get the EXCESS inflammation that has been stored in the body due to years of not being grounded PROGRESSIVELY out of the body so the body can most powerfully heal itself over time.

The body wants to heal itself and when excess inflammation is released the body works more efficiently to heal itself.

Sleeping Grounded is KEY. There is no other time in our lives when we can spend as many consecutive hours Grounding as when we’re sleeping.

Sure, walking on the earth for 30 minutes definitely has great value but unless you spend your 8+ hour days swimming in salt water oceans plus another sleeping directly on the ground there’s no more powerful way to build the cumulative effects available than Sleeping Grounded using the excellent indoor technology that allows us to integrate this vital process into our modern homes and lives..

Getting educated on Grounding – and Sleeping Grounded – is, in my opinion as a therapist, essential to Self Help and Self Healing.

Here’s a great study:

Study’s Summary:

Modern biomedicine has discovered that many of the most debilitating diseases, as well as the aging process itself, are caused by or associated with chronic inflammation and oxidative stress.

Emerging research has revealed that direct physical contact with the surface of the planet generates a kind of electric nutrition, with surprisingly potent and rapid anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects.

The objective of this study was to explain the potential of grounding to clinicians as a simple strategy for prevention, therapy, and improving patient outcomes.

Results revealed significant physiological or clinical outcomes as a result of grounding.

Conclusion:

This body of research has demonstrated the potential of grounding to be a simple, natural, and accessible clinical strategy against the global epidemic of noncommunicable, degenerative, inflammatory-related diseases.
